An Herbal Infused Oil is not an Essential Oil. It is an oil that has been sitting for a long while with herbs in it which contain medicinal properties that are able to come out into the oil due to a few key factors. The time is a part of this process as well as some heat, also a bit of maceration and a bit of agitation or shaking of the jar. There are a few ways to make "infused oils" but for times sake today I will tell you how I made this particular one. First I took my herbs, in this case Yarrow Leaf and Flowers (dried) and put them in my Pilon and mashed them up a bit. Then I put them into my glass jar and covered them completely with Organic, cold pressed, Olive Oil. I made sure to cover the herb completely. Then I put the jar in the window. It is a window that gets sun part of the day. The oil will now sit for one lunar cycle. The jar will be given a shake to agitate the herbs and oil once a day during this time. As it sits there the goodness of the herb will come out into the oil. All it's therapeutic properties or "plant constituents" will be seeping into the oil. This is what we want ! The oil is becoming INFUSED with the plant's healing qualities.
Other uses for Yarrow Infused Oil:
Applied directly to the abdomen, it has helped women with pelvic congestion (stagnation) with conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts by increasing circulation to the reproductive organs and tissues. Yarrow is ‘amphoteric’, which means it "CAN" have opposite healing traits. For example, it is astringent (shrinks or constricts body tissue) , so it can stop bleeding, but it can also provide the healing needed to move stagnant congested blood.
