I will share with you my recipe for killing germs and supporting your immune system. A little something different ! Honey Myrtle (Melaleuca teretifolia) Mostly this time of year we are looking to Tea tree Essential Oil and our friendly spices to help fight some pesky germs round the house. I met up with a delightful friendly antimicrobial while I was a Beyond Aromatics NAHA conference recently and it is sweet and lovely. I have created an amazing immune boosting and germ fighting spray for our house that is a wonderful separation for my usual Opal's Apothecarium - Burglars Blend (c). “Flu Beware”

Aromatherapists......
While most of the Melaleuca species offer antifungal properties, they all vary in their chemical compositions. This particular Melaleuca teretifolia has the highest citral content of all the Melaleucas. Citral contributes to the oil its antimicrobial and antifungal actions. There have been studies showing that Honey Myrtle has even more antimicrobial properties than Tea Tree and this is due to its citral content. Other oils high in Citral are Lemongrass and Melissa. The Honey Myrtle I have also has a significant amount of b-myrcene. B-Myrcene which has an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and CNS sedative action. Even though this Essential Oil is a central nervous system sedative it is a very uplifting scent for the mood. What light and refreshing eye opener for in your shower or diffuser in the A.M. Hours. A wonderful addition to an all-natural cleaning product. Is it an amazing uplifting aromatic for a lotion as well. This Melaleuca species has an aroma is reminiscent of warmed honey and lemon thus its appropriate name.
A note on Safety:
Be sure to use other skin and mucous membrane nourishing oils within a blend of oils high in Citral (Geranial and Neral) and use with oils high in limonene or a-pinene to help reduce the risk of possible skin sensitization.

You will love this aromatic Spray!
It not only smells lovely but will boost your immune system as well as has wonderful antimicrobial actions. A few sprays through out the day will ward off all those pesky bugs floating around this time of year and support your own immunities so that your human-system-warriors are hardy and ready!
This combination of essential oils would make a wonderful “Synergy” (pure combination of essential oils which is not diluted). I can make this for you to add to your diff-user at home. Great for in a child's play area or bedroom for running at 15-20min increments.
Honey Myrtle~Red Thyme~Ginger~Ceder-wood~Oregano~Vetiver~Lavender
Wonderful for common areas which are high traffic with visitors this time of year after they have left for making the area clean and germ free.
Also, a “synergy” can be added to a all-natural cleaning spray. Keep your home chemical free, budget friendly, GREEN and aroma-full ! A group of Essential Oils that you might use in a cleaning blend, which by the way, smells refreshing and is great at killing unwanted germs. Might be : Honey Myrtle, Red Thyme and Lemon and Lime. The citrus oils are great for breaking down grease .
A basic all round cleaner:
My basic all round cleaner is made in an old spray bottle which might be the size of a windex bottle (you can easily purchase empties at the dollar store). These bottles are about 32 fluid oz.
1/4 filled with white vinegar
A squirt of Castille soap
Your Essential Oils
You can use about 35-40 drops of Essential Oil easily in this mixture total.
I find this mixture is amazing at cleaning everything from stainless steal appliances to glass stove tops. It is great for granite and leaves no residue on furniture. I have never seen it ruin wood, however, I would not recommend letting it sit on the wood for a long time. There are other cleaning solutions better suited for wood that contain a bit of oil.
CHANGE IT UP ! Just a reminder: change up your products you use on yourself, about every two weeks will yield optimum efficacy ! Be creative.
Let me know if this is a must-have for your home. I can white up a 2oz spray or synergy for you in no time at all. LET CHAT.
